How We Work

With our backgrounds working in remote places and different cultures (researching books or making documentaries), we know that if our projects are to be effective, genuinely useful and welcome, the local people must become our friends and colleagues. In Pemba we have contacts in the mosques; with other NGOs, whether big multinational aid agencies or small organizations like ours; with the Zanzibar and local governments; and in many communities and villages across the island. Find out about our current projects here. Read more Pemba Foundation history here.
